PLEASE NOTE:

Here are a few images that accurately reflect the abilities of any given camera model. The images are altered only in terms of size and sharpness after reduction and by the JPEG
compression used. Unless otherwise mentioned, assume that any marbling or artifacts visible in the images are due to the compression required to display them here. We feel however,
that they still faithfully represent the results we experienced.

STILL LIFE PHOTO

This scene was photographed indoors in a room lit by natural light. The camera flash is used to add fill light.

This photo is taken at the widest setting of camera's zoom lens. When viewed at 100 percent in an image editor, the picture is noisy at the edges and especially in the sheer curtains in the background. Objects in the photo appear soft. Colors are true.

ZOOM STILL LIFE PHOTO

This shot tests the camera's zoom on the still life scene under the same lighting conditions.

With the zoom extended to full telephoto, details within the field of focus are sharp. Image stabilization was turned on in this photo. Test photos without it were blurred due to camera shake.

Photo Information
Format: JPEG Aperture: 4.8
Exposure: auto Shutter Speed: 1/60 sec.
Res: 3264x2448 Flash: On
Quality: Superfine ISO: 200
File Size: 2.87MB Focal Length: 34.8mmb

MACRO PHOTO

This is macro test shot. The test object is about 4.5 inches wide by 3.5 inches high.

Some secondary lighting for the object was provided by a desk lamp with a 75-watt clear fluorescent bulb. At 100 percent in a photo editor, this shot is very grainy and noisy, even though it was taken with relatively low ISO of 100.

BUILDING PHOTO

This is an outdoor test shot. The house has lots of fine detail in the shingles and slate roof, as well as the architectural design of the doorway.

Even on a coudy day, the A720 managed to capture every detail of this home. Shingles are sharply defined and at 100 percent view in a photo editor, event the ice-breakers on the roof are finely etched. A close look at the dark areas of the evergreen tree reveal no visible noise.

Photo Information
Format: JPEG Aperture: f2.8
Exposure: auto Shutter Speed: 1/125 second
Res: 3264x2448 Flash: no
Quality: Superfine ISO: 200
File Size: 4.87MB Focal Lgth: 5.8mm

ZOOM PHOTO

Without moving from the spot that the building photo was taken, the image of the entrance to house was captured with the camera's zoom at maximum telephoto. Detail--especially the peeling paint--is good, as is the color fidelity. At 100 percent view in a photo editor, signs of noise can be seen in the dark corners of the roof and in the shadowed areas behind the light.

Photo Information

Res: 3264x2448 Flash: no
