Our Opinion
Overall photo quality for the FinePix S2000HD was good. Flash shots indoors were, for the most part, evenly exposed. Outdoors, the camera took sharp pictures, although its color palette seemed a bit undersaturated and pictures lacked pop. Generally the camera's focusing and exposure systems performed well, although shots requiring help from the unit's AF assist lamp tended to have soft details.
What will make the S2000HD attractive to many lensslingers is its 15x optical zoom which allows them to get intimate with their subjects without violating their target’s physical space.
Aperture: F/7 Shutter Speed: 1/125 second ISO: 100
Aperture: F/5.4 Shutter Speed: 1/111 second ISO: 100
Not only can this FinePix model capture excellent close-ups, but its zoom can snap wide-angle shots, too.
Aperture: F/7 Shutter Speed: 1/350 second ISO: 100
While many point-and-shoot cameras have a macro mode, the Fujifilm offering has a Super Macro mode that makes the camera feel like a microscope.
Aperture: F/8.8 Shutter Speed: 1/220 second ISO: 100
The S2000HD has an interesting zoom bracketing mode. When activated, it takes three shots at different sizes with a single click of the shutter button.

Aperture: F/7.4 Shutter Speed: 1/416 second ISO: 100
Sequential shooting in best picture mode is a drag at 1.1 frames per second, but catching a moving subject at the right moment can still be done if you're willing to settle for fewer megapixels in the final product.
Aperture: F/10.6 Shutter Speed: 1/1000 second ISO: 800
Photographers who want to push the ISO envelope can do it with the S2000HD. The camera supports high ISO settings like 1600, 3200 and 6400. At 3200 and 6400, there's image degradation, but the camera does a good job of dampening noise at 1600.

In addition to the S2000HD's godzilla zoom, another tempting morsel for camera shoppers is its ability to capture high definition video. While this FinePix's HD video is better than that of some other cameras we've seen, it has a ways to go before disconcerting any HD camcorder makers.
