The Kyocera Finecam S3 (also sold as Yashica in Europe) is so small that the picture of it on the left is actually bigger than the camera. This is a camera that fits comfortably across the four fingers of an open hand.
The Finecam S3 also happens to be a 3.3 megapixel camera fitted with a 2X zoom lens. When turned on, the lens extends a full 2.4 cm (0.936 in) and moves to the default wide angle position.

This camera is so small that one hesitates when trying to grab a hold of it: there is precious little room for the fingers of an adult.

The upper part of the back has the Macro/Landscape button, the Flash button, the Mode Dial, and the zoom controls all aligned next to one another.
The Mode Dial has three settings: Record, Playback and Setup. In the Recording mode, any change to the camera settings is done using the menu. The menu is navigated using the four direction control on the right of the 1.5" LCD screen. Selections are then confirmed by pressing the round button at the centre of the arrows.

Because of the limited amount of space available on the camera, the controls are kept to a minimum. Therefore all other functions are accessed through the menu making the use of the LCD screen necessary.
