Here are a few images that accurately reflect the abilities
of any given camera model. The images are altered only in
terms of size and sharpness after reduction and by the JPEG
compression used. Unless otherwise mentioned, assume that
any marbling or artifacts visible in the images are due to
the compression required to display them here. We feel however,
that they still faithfully represent the results we experienced.

This scene was photographed indoors with
a flash in a room with subdued natural lighting.
This photo was taken with the K2000's zoom lens set at its widest setting.
The built-in flash brightly lit the scene and created an even exposure.
Colors are vivid and natural. Viewed at 100 percent in a photo editor,
detail was sharp. There was minimal noise (see photo at right).

This shot tests the camera and zoom
lens at full telephoto on the still life scene under the same lighting
and metering conditions.
Picture is nicely lit, although there's a slight drop-off from foreground
to background. Color throughout photograph reflects what is seen by the
human eye. At 100 percent in a photo editor, detail is sharp (see photo
at right) and noise is minimal.

This is an outdoor test shot taken
in Auto mode. The house has lots of fine detail in the shingles and slate
roof, as well as the architectural design of the doorway.
The outdoor shot had excellent exposure, sharpness and color fidelity.
At 100 percent in a photo editor (photo at right), fine details like icicles
and peeling paint were finely rendered. Noise was barely perceptible to
the eye.

Without moving from the spot that the building
photo was taken, the image of the entrance to the house was captured with
the zoom extended to its maximum focal length.
Once again, exposure is on target. Detail is very sharp. Notice the nicely
rendered reflection in the window to the right of the entrance's gable
and the fine detail in the lace curtains in the window to the left of
the gable. At 100 percent in a photo editor, noise was indiscernible even
in areas that are typical noise magnets like in the shadows above the
door (photo at right).
